Newest Member of the School Board...

This week has been so exciting and busy, new renters, book fair, Roads to Success and oh yea this little election thing! As I have campaigned for school board I have had so much positive feed back, but it never could prepare me for all the support I had this week! On Monday and Tuesday I had so many well wishers. Tuesday night when I finally got home and started to watch the numbers come in my phone and facebook page was nuts! I couldn't believe how many people were watching the numbers and cheering me on! Right out of the gates I had a 60%-40% lead, exciting huh? And when we finally called it a night at midnight it was 66%-33%. Miah was the one who woke up at 5am and check the numbers my lead had held and increased to 70%-30%. Once again that morning and all through the day I was overwhelmed by all the people who were watching out for me and congratulated me. It was was of the widest margins in the Utah elections, which was exciting, it was good to know people wanted a change. I had a really nice message from my opponent, Loyd Naylor that day, offering his help and support. I also had a call from the Superintendent, congratulating me and letting me know what is next. It was so fun to be "stuck" at the book fair for the Wednesday and Thursday night and hear how excited people were. I feel so blessed to know so many good people. I have also learned from my relatively small campaign, how much work it takes and that there are good, honest, well meaning people who want to run our government. It was unnerving to watch the numbers and see some of the people we were cheering on do well and others lose by small margins. My heart goes out to them and their families.

Now the work begins! Well, techinically not until January 12th, so I guess I will take a little breather (ha ha ha) and then jump in!
