Who Rocks The House?

The Red Rocks rocked Parkside's house today!

They were so great, Elisabeth was so excited to meet them, she gave them their cheer and then they offered to do it with her! HAPPY GIRL! I've been going to the meets since I was 8, and really have missed very view, so I also thought it was a treat to meet Megan Marsden and 4 of the gymnast.

This assembly was to kick off our Road to Success year, and I had made all the arrangements, first the school song, then announcing the winning Happenings books winners, then a terrific performance from our school choir and then I introduced the Red Rocks! It made me a little nervous since there were a bunch of parents there for the choir, but I thought it was good to see all the stuff we having going on for the kids. Anyways, our reading goal for the year is 2.5 million, that's a tall order but achievable, I'm also hoping to get our janitor to shave his head if we reach it!
Elisabeth's friend Easton is a HUGE Utah fan and was so bummed when he had to miss the assembly with the football players last year, so I wanted him to meet the girls.

The girls finish up the assembly with a handstand competition! They could stay there for so long, Daria Bejak ended up winning!

Busy Weekend...

Wow, what a busy weekend we had! We had so much fun that I actually dropped the ball on a couple of things, but oh well, we'll get it together next week! And it was so crazy I took my camera with me everywhere, but only have pictures of a cute new hairdo we tried out.

Thursday...
Parkside Night at Rubio's
, each month we are sponsoring a night at a restaurant around Murray, then they give us a percentage of the profits! Little work for hopefully a good income!
Dinner at Fudrucker's with Courtney and Tom, we love our friends from the old neighborhood, the four of us have such a good laugh together!

Friday...
Stockton and Hudson B-day Party... Giant water slide and jump house, need I say more? The kids have a great time and came home completely exhausted!

Saturday...
Stockton's Baptism... we love that cute 8 year old! Congrats Stockton!
Sam's First Flag Football Game... Thanks Joe for taking him and hanging with him all afternoon. They tied, which is better than last year, when they mostly got killed. :)
Lunch at Jan and Chad's, YUMMY homemade Cafe Rio.
More playing in the jump house.
Scout work on an ancient PC... uggg... what I could have done in 15 minutes took me an hour since I had to use a PC!
2:00pm Molly Mouse Practice... this is what I forgot! Until 2:30 and I was still in Bluffdale!
Mow the lawn
Dragon Diner and Utah Game with Joe and Randi! Yahoo, Utah victory!

Sunday...
Church... I'm really hitting the point of burn out in Primary... I've basically been there my whole adult life, I guess I have something to learn still.
Packers beat the Rams
"Chuck-A-Grandma's"... That's what the grandkids call it, for Mom and Dad's Anniversary.
Family Bike Ride and Game...
And send them off to bed, so I can watch the season premiere of AMAZING RACE!

Blog Stalker... Or Adoring Friend!

Through the power of Facebook I recently came back in contact with an old friend.
Not old like she is old, but old like we have known each other since before kindergarten old!
We were friends all through elementary, junior high and high school.
And we became really good friends after high school!
For heavens sakes we were even in each others weddings!
She was one of my kids favorites when they were little tikes!
How sad that we lost touch with each other a few years ago. :(
And then one day what do you know she's on facebook!
And then boom we made dinner plans!
So we got together last night,
and it was SOOO good to see each other and catch up!
And she has the most darling little baby girl!

Funny thing is all this time she has been watching our blog!
She knew all sorts of things we'd been up to.
It's like I have my own blog stalker!
She was so cute, she said, "just because we haven't seen each other doesn't mean I don't care!"
There is nothing like an old friend,
you can just be yourself,
and pick up right were you left off years ago!

So here's to you my personal blog stalker!
Love you to death,
And let's not wait years to get together again!
So I couldn't find any pictures from when we were really little, and many of our high school and post high school pictures included old boyfriends, but here's an old picture of "the girls" from back in the day! That's a lot of big hair ladies!

The Forgotten Post...

I found these pictures the other day when I down loaded some others. The first week of school Elisabeth's class was invited to watch a game at the Little League World Series. Her friend Easton's family was involved in organizing it and invited the class. The kids had a great time, but I don't think they watched any baseball. Elisabeth, Hayden and Alex were in a dance off, they were so funny! I'm so glad Elisabeth has such a wide variety of friends, even if they are over the top silly!

Packers take down DA Bears...

What a win!
With a little help from Cutler's 4 interceptions,
the Packers were victorious tonight!
A Packers win = joy and happiness at the Johnson House!

Koda the Guard Dog...

So anybody who knows our dog Koda, knows he is just a big friendly fur ball, pretty whimpy! Well today he was very fierce when he found a raccoon in our backyard! They were making terrible noises and I have never heard my dog bark so much, it was a stand off and Koda won, well he injured it and it finally left the yard.

First Board Meeting... Check!

ahhhh.... sigh... My first PTA board meeting went well this morning. I had a huge turn out and a bunch of new faces. I found myself completely exhausted afterward, your brain has to go into hyper drive with all the questions and decisions, and it doesn't help I couldn't sleep from stewing about it! Anyways, we walked away with some really great plans, including a Family Fitness Night, and a plan to pay for sealants for two grades. I also was a good delgater and passed off my Family Restaurant Night task and Halloween Parade to some excited mom's. We even had a dad there! Our school is really moving in a good direction, we are really trying to make it a community where everyone feels welcome, and our parent involvement is actually way up! So good things are happening at Parkside Elementary!

Big Hair and Pretty Buns...

Back to school means back to dance. Today E tries out for Molly Mouse, and we tried this new bun, it looks great! We were playing around with her bangs, and I ratted them up and showed her big hair. I must be a product of the 80's, 'cause I thought it was cute. The we showed her and Sam our wedding pictures, we were all laughing! Sad but true it's coming back, Randi cut 7 mullets on Saturday alone, and they have stir up pants at Walmart!

Welcome to the Show!
