LEGO mania!

Sam loves LEGOs and is really into it right now. This is their town, the "White House," the little "green house," etc. Sam is very creative with his building the red house has a pin wheel and sign that says RED...one of his many future jobs is an architect, you never know! Oh yea, and those are glasses made of LEGOs!

Chief Visits Parkside!

One of my biggest PTA jobs this year is working with the "Road 2 Success" program. This is an awesome reading program by the Garff's and the Utah Blaze, where kids read all year to earn bikes, scholarships, treats, etc. Our school has a goal of 1.7 million minutes! Thats 100 minutes a week by each kid! At the end of January our kids were at just under 1.2 million minutes! They are incredible! To reward the top class for the upper and lower grades the Blaze mascot Chief stopped by for lunch and crazy antics! The kids had a blast!

Bowling...

Our kids love bowling, so we had a fun treat when they went with their cousins on Presidents Day. They all did well, the bumpers help! These are some of my nieces, Ali, Andie and Ashlyn, my nephew Zac and my sister Lisa. The funnest part wasn't the bowling, but when they played YMCA, boy does Zac have the moves!

President Gordon B. Hinckley

Last Sunday when word spread that our Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley had passed away, I felt sadness, we have lost a man of great wisdom and wit. I always thought that he was the man that everybody wished was their grandpa. But my sadness was short lived and was replaced by happiness, he has been reunited with his sweet wife that he missed dearly. My testimony grew as I was able to assure my children that he was in a better place, and happy there, and that our Church would not skip a beat. The new Prophet will be named soon, and the meanwhile the work continues, and even when the new Presidency is announced nothing will change! The Gospel is true! It is the same now as in the days of Jesus on this earth! I am also glad that in this time of technology we have so many pictures, films and writings of this great man, and that although he will be missed he will never be forgotten!

Please, read the following quote:

You were generals in the War in Heaven and one day when you are in the spirit world, you will be enthralled by those you are associated with. You will ask someone in which time period they lived and you might hear, "I was with Moses when he parted the
Red Sea," or "I helped build the pyramids," or "I fought with Captain Moroni." And as you are standing there in amazement, someone will turn to you and ask you which of the prophets' time did you live in? And when you say "Gordon B. Hinckley" a hush will fall over every hall and corridor in Heaven, and all in attendance will bow at your presence. You were held back six thousand years because you were the most talented, most obedient, most courageous, and most righteous.

Elder Boyd K. Packer
